Alright. by Crazyee. on August 15th, 2010, 12:19am

I found about this from my sister, who was once a big manga fan, I find it really alright, nothing BIG or Special.

About the ending, i dont find it bad as some comments say it is. But thats just my opinion, even though it is sad for me it's still alright. C'mon a human and robot? the only way that a happy ending could happen is if a fairy godmother grant Night a wish to become human. So for a robot who can think for himself, he did pretty well. He asked someone to look after the girl he loves, someone who can really take care of her and someone who can or have the possibility to give her a future, family as such.. such things he can never provide her.

But hey thats just how i see it.

Nice by Skaro on July 26th, 2010, 9:49pm

I quite liked this manga. As several shoujo mangas, it's full of clichés, but they are really well developed and nice. You don't feel like all the cliches are being rushed into the scene to please you. Instead, the story moves at a nice pace and makes you wanna keep on reading.

The idea of a girl having to choose between two seemingly perfect guys is quite repetitive in shoujo mangas, but I believe this is one of the stories in which it makes you really, really sad when the girl has to actually choose one. In several others is oh! - so - obvious who she is going to go for and the lack of feelings on the part of the rejected guy makes you feel like this cannot be real. Here it almost made me cry seeing how the rejected guy reacted.

I wouldn't praise the ending, 'cause I don't think I completely understood it. I don't like endings which don't clearly show you what's happening or who the main character is going to stay with. Here you can understand either that she is going to wait forever for the one guy or move on and go for the other one.

All the same, I would recommend this to shoujo manga readers who like sweet stories with a bit of drama and sci fi in it.

The first manga I ever read... by arion:susumu on June 14th, 2010, 7:22am

...So I'm quite biased. But this is different to most shoujo manga, and, actually, to most of Watase's work (she even said in a side-note in the manga that she didn't normally do just romance, there normally had to be some kind of other plot). I thought it was refreshing. I normally try to stay away from shoujo, but this one is definitely worth a read.

The art was stunning, the series was just the right length, and with just enough comedy to balance the drama. I did actually cry at times, just like a laughed loudly many times. I actually liked it so much that I bought the whole series.

Riiko is cute and funny without being a typical 'every-one loves me' character that seems to be so popular in the shoujo world (something that I really hate). Night is gorgeous and innocent, while Soshi is serious, and yet so sweet. Gaku was pretty awesome, too. It had some interesting sub-plots that, I was happy to find, were played out until the end.

did you even read it properly? She didn't 'end up' with Soshi, and Night was different to all of the other 'robots'. That fact played a massive part in the manga!

Three by Trussardi on May 3rd, 2010, 1:46pm

The whole idea of being in a dilemma about having to decide if you want to date robot boyfriend when there's a really hot guy living nearby who is very interested was just so ludicrous to me, and the ending was just so bad that I don't see myself ever wanting to reread it. Especially after having read something like Chobits, which also does the whole human/robot love and relationships far better if we're meant to take it seriously.

Mixed it with music and here are my results by baybh3e on April 11th, 2010, 1:03am

I read manga while listenening to "Only One" by Yellowcard during the sad moments. I think it was that was probably the main thing that made me cry at the end because the words of the song just fit so well with the manga. The only bad thing about it now is that I can't listen to that song anymore because it will cause my tears to well up in my eyes from thinking about this manga. May be because I'm sensitive. But I still recommend it nonetheless.

ARGH!!! The Ending!!! D: by astroasis on February 18th, 2010, 11:11pm

I think it's sad that this manga was my first introduction to Yuu Watase's work. It left me with a bad impression of her and a wondering of how it was she'd gotten so popular. I've since read a lot of her other titles and am slowly starting to reassess my opinions.

I think Night would've been a better character for me (more likable) had Soshi not been in the picture. I mean, the girl needs a robot boyfriend when she has a hottie next door who's in love with her? And then the whole "Do I date this robot or the hot real guy next door" dilemma was so frustrating. Hello? Robot or Human? Is this really a decision you need to stress yourself out over?

I kept reading, wanting to see how this would all end... and I have to say, I wish I hadn't. The ending was absolutely horrid. I'm going to use a spoiler tag here, so I can sufficiently rant about it for a moment:
Spoiler (highlight to view)
ARGH!!! This is one of the worst endings I've ever seen! It would've been one thing if Riiko had chosen Soshi as her man... but no, Yuu Watase went another way with this one. A ridiculous way. Riiko chooses Night... and then he goes kaput, so she ends up with Soshi anyway. On what planet is this a good ending? Soshi knows he's not the guy Riiko really wants to be with - and not only that, she chose a friggin' ROBOT over him. Night's kaput, so the ending sucks for him, too. And Riiko is now stuck with her second choice, always pining away for the first choice... who was a friggin' robot. Absolutely ridiculous.

I feel generous giving this manga a 6... but on the other hand, as much as I dislike the ending and found the characters/plot pretty ridiculous, it was still a decent read. It had its charming moments, I suppose... and wasn't a complete waste of time.

Also, it's always nice to have a horrible ending to complain about. XD

There should be an anime also by darcyaglow on December 22nd, 2009, 1:01pm

I do not know why people here complaning so much =.=
This manga is obviously good! Just admit that!
The artwork is beautiful and the length of the series is just nice. Not so many unnecessary scenes though (the improvement of Yuu Watase) and not a single dull moment.
I do enjoy all the series.
There r many cliche in manga and it is impossible for the mangaka to come up with the totally 100% original idea. But I do think that if the mangaka can express her own style in story-telling and artwork, she is the winner.
Anyway, there should be an anime ^^ I think it gonna be successful just like the drama and the manga itself.

My rating...why it's sooo low. by LUEser on October 14th, 2009, 8:31am

I rate this manga a four ONLY because the ending was good enough for me: pretty tragic. But...it did not match this manga, which throughout the whole thing was a girl's imagination about the perfect man. She was having fun yet she had to work to have him, but the story doesn't grab hold of my attention tight enough. I don't like this manga at all.
